Description

The Associate Professor/Professor of Pediatrics and Chair of Pediatric Education will develop and lead the pediatric educational programs, ensuring the highest standards in training medical students, residents, and fellows. The role involves collaboration with departmental and institutional leaders to align academic priorities, oversee accreditation standards, and expand educational offerings.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing strategic vision for pediatric education programs.
  2. Leading and supporting the implementation of quality programs for trainees to meet accreditation standards.
  3. Overseeing faculty involved in residency and fellowship programs, including program directors and committee members.
  4. Managing evaluation strategies for educational programs and faculty performance.
  5. Partnering with Emory University to enhance Continuing Medical Education (CME) initiatives.
  6. Supporting faculty development and promoting careers in medical education.
  7. Reporting on educational outcomes and participating in departmental training activities.
  8. Collaborating with external partners to integrate new training programs and leverage educational resources.
  9. Managing budgets related to educational activities.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics or a subspecialty.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Georgia.
  • Extensive experience in graduate medical education leadership, including oversight of ACGME programs.
  • Proven track record in developing innovative educational programs and faculty development.
  • National recognition in medical education and leadership roles.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in building academic-clinical partnerships and operational leadership.
