Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Chief Teaching & Learning Officer to lead the Office of Teaching and Learning, aligning PreK-12 curriculum, professional learning, and assessment with the district’s Instructional Core Vision. Reporting to the Chief Education Officer, you will oversee the district’s curriculum system, develop improvement plans, and coach leaders across departments and networks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or related field is required.
• PEL with ISBE administrative endorsement is required.
• EdD or PhD in a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of professional experience.
• Minimum of seven years of leadership experience in a complex educational organization.
• Minimum of three years in school leadership, preferably as a principal.
• Experience designing curriculum, assessments, and data-informed instruction.
• Experience in professional project and change management is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Provide the strategic vision for the Office of Teaching & Learning.
• Lead the design, delivery, and facilitation of professional learning.
• Oversee district-wide implementation of Skyline digital curriculum.
• Coordinate differentiated supports based on data and needs assessments.
• Plan large-scale events and professional learning for leaders and teachers.
• Guide equitable instructional practices and policy alignment.
• Supervise and evaluate directors with feedback.
• Communicate priorities to networks and principals.
• Drive decision-making on grading, scheduling, and calendars.
