Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a strategic Chief Teaching & Learning Officer to lead the district’s PreK-12 curriculum system and instructional core. The role oversees professional learning, content departments, and coaching for leaders across Central Office, networks, and schools, driving equity and academic excellence.

The candidate will align assessment, staffing, and schedules to support student success and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or related field is required.
• Valid ISBE Professional Educator’s License with an administrative endorsement is required.
• EdD or PhD in a related field is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision for the Office of Teaching & Learning aligned with district goals.
• Lead design and delivery of a coherent system of professional learning across the organization.
• Oversee district-wide implementation of Skyline, the PreK-12 digital curriculum system.
• Coordinate differentiated academic supports using data and needs assessments.
• Manage and develop content directors and leaders through formalized goal setting.
• Drive balanced assessment system implementation and equity-focused practices.
