Job Description

PotomacWave is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer/Architect to join our team supporting a Federal client in Frederick, MD. This role leads a small team and currently follows a hybrid schedule with three days on-site per week. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, maintain quality service standards, and have excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Capability Implementation Plans based on DoD Instruction 5000.75.
• Develop, refine, and execute full lifecycle support to ensure project success, including systems engineering and cyber activities at the PMO level.
• Manage and coordinate project support activities across functional boundaries, ensuring schedules and external dependencies are met.
• Develop and implement the Project Sustainment Plan, leveraging input from vendors and managing critical infrastructure hosting all products and capabilities.
• Oversee governance and systems engineering processes to track and control IT resources and services, ensuring consistency with requirements, design, and operational information throughout the system lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 7 years of professional experience supporting IT or related fields.
• Knowledge of best practices in systems engineering and familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience with cloud-based systems.
• Proficiency in strategic planning and development.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with positive interpersonal abilities.
• Must hold a Public Trust clearance or be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining one.

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000
