Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Chief Surveyor for the North of Las Vegas, NV area to perform plane and geodetic surveys, establish and update government range target databases, and oversee survey operations across contract sites. The role requires independent work, meticulous data handling, and adherence to USAF/DOD policies.

Responsibilities include managing data quality, updating target and road status records, preparing field notes, and supporting training of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Five years of Plane and Geodetic Survey experience.
• Experience with field data collection using electronic measuring instruments.
• Working knowledge of surveying equipment incl. theodolite, total station, GPS.
• Proficient with PC and AutoCAD; able to read plans and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform field surveys for construction, GIS data collection, and control surveys.
• Maintain and update range target databases and related documentation.
• supervise or assist survey team and ensure data quality.
• Read plans and blueprints; document field notes to standards.
