The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is inviting applications for the position of Section Chief of Surgical Critical Care. This is a full-time, tenured faculty role at the Associate or Full Professor level within the Regular series, based at UCLA with locations including Westwood and affiliated hospitals.

The Section Chief will mentor faculty and trainees, lead innovative research in surgical critical care, and oversee the ICU

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent required; board certification in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care desirable.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and academic productivity.

Responsibilities

• Mentor faculty, fellows, and trainees in scholarly activity.
• Oversee ICU staffing and collaborate with Anesthesiology’s Critical Care leadership.
• Lead multidisciplinary fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and supervise medical student rotations.
• Drive quality improvement programs and implement evidence-based care.
