Job summary

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in Arlington, VA, seeks a Senior Vice President for Business and Technology Strategies to drive a strategic vision and oversee programs advancing member co-ops’ business and technology capabilities.

Responsibilities include budgeting, policy support, grant management, and representing NRECA with regulators and industry groups. The role requires a strong track record in leadership, entrepreneurship, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in progressing leadership for strategic planning, executive business leadership, entrepreneurship and/or management consulting.
• Knowledge of electric utility industry including engineering, operations and power markets.
• Demonstrated ability to commercialize products, services, and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a well-integrated, high-performing team and establish a strategic vision.
• Prepare and manage the department budget to align with strategic goals.
• Provide advice and support to the Government Relations Department on public policy and regulatory testimony.
• Represent members’ interests with government agencies and industry associations.
• Communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders and audiences.
• Develop viable government grant applications to fund new technologies.
• Present formal presentations at regional and annual membership meetings.
