Job summary

MercyOne seeks a Chief Strategy Officer to lead strategic planning, business development and population health efforts across its health network. The role reports to the CEO, collaborates with Trinity Health, and guides initiatives across multiple entities in a matrixed environment.

The candidate will drive market growth through integrated care models, develop ambulatory and service line strategies, and partner with leadership to advance MercyOne’s mission and core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10–15 years in business development, strategic planning or financial planning, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, business development and population health initiatives for MercyOne.
• Attend board meetings and report on progress of strategic initiatives.
• Oversee staff and coordinate system resources in a matrixed environment.
• Develop and implement value-based care strategies and new ventures aligned with Trinity Health goals.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Communications and external partners to promote programs.
