Job summary

Novartis Group of Companies is seeking an Executive Director, Semantic and Knowledge Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and implementation of our enterprise semantic layer and knowledge engineering capabilities powering NovaOS. You will build a trusted knowledge foundation to connect data, ontologies, taxonomies, and AI agents for scalable enterprise intelligence.

This role is ideally located in East Hanover, NJ, with possible remote options.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in semantic technologies or AI platforms with leadership experience.
• Experience building enterprise semantic platforms at scale.
• Experience leading knowledge engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise semantic strategy and knowledge graphs.
• Govern ontologies, taxonomies, business vocabularies, and semantic models.
• Design enterprise semantic layer enabling trusted AI and analytics.
• Collaborate with AI, Data Science, Product, Engineering and Business teams.
• Establish governance and metadata management across assets.
• Drive innovation in RAG, semantic search, and AI-enabled knowledge management.
• Build and lead a core team of semantic engineers and ontology specialists.
