Job summary

Travere Therapeutics is seeking a Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead scientific strategy and the execution of a global research program focused on rare diseases. The CSO will report to the EVP, Head of Research & Development and the CMO, and will oversee both the Research and Technical Operations organizations.

Qualifications

  • 17+ years of leadership in biotechnology or pharmaceutical settings.
  • Deep scientific expertise in nephrology, immunology, metabolic disease, and related rare disease areas.
  • Ability to communicate a scientific vision to executives, boards, investors, and collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the company\'s senior scientific advisor to the Executive Team and Board, guiding portfolio strategy and growth.
  • Shape portfolio strategy by integrating scientific and technical considerations into investment decisions.
  • Define and communicate Travere\'s scientific vision and long-term research roadmap to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and enable technologies to strengthen the portfolio and competitive position.
  • Lead scientific evaluation and due diligence of external opportunities, including collaborations and licensing.
  • Build and evolve a world-class research organization across early clinical science, translational research, preclinical work, and biomarker sciences.
  • Develop and implement a long-term Technical Operations strategy to support development and commercialization.
  • Oversee research budgets and drive adoption of emerging technologies like AI and computational biology.

Education

Advanced scientific or medical degree (M.D., Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent).
