Job summary

Sereact, a frontier robotics company, seeks a Chief Science Officer to own Cortex research, world models and planning. You will lead the research organization and steer data, compute, and publication strategy across Europe and the US, including Boston, Zurich and Stuttgart.

You will drive research bets, deploy science to live robots, and build partnerships with universities and investors, shaping the company’s technical voice and its path to scalable, real-world robot learning.

Qualifications

• Experience leading research in robot learning or embodied AI (VLA models, imitation or RL, world models).
• Proven ability to deploy research on real robots outside the lab and for extended periods.
• Strong track record at top venues and a network that attracts researchers to join.

Responsibilities

• Set the Cortex research agenda: vision-language-action models, world models and planning.
• Own data and compute strategy, ensuring learning from deployment translates to improvement.
• Lead the research organisation across Zurich and Stuttgart with clear ownership and cadence.
• Represent Sereact’s science with customers, universities and investors; decide what to publish.
• Collaborate with CTO, product and operations to align research with deployment.
