We’re working with an AI infrastructure company delivering high-performance inference for developers, AI-native businesses and enterprises.
Its cloud platform enables customers to run AI models with the speed, reliability and economics required for production applications. The business serves customers ranging from developers building their first application to organisations operating demanding workloads at scale.
The commercial opportunity is to turn technical adoption into durable revenue: helping customers move from experimentation into production, expanding usage as their applications grow and securing enterprise commitments that support efficient infrastructure investment.
About the role
We’re seeking a Chief Revenue Officer to define and lead the company’s revenue strategy, build a high-performing commercial organisation and translate demand for AI inference into predictable, profitable growth.
You’ll develop a connected approach across developer-led adoption, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships and customer expansion. This requires an understanding of how technical buyers evaluate infrastructure, how production workloads grow and how commercial commitments interact with capacity and cost.
The role combines executive leadership with direct involvement in major opportunities. You’ll establish the operating model, recruit and develop leaders, and personally help shape complex customer and partner agreements.
What you’ll do
Define the revenue strategy
- Develop the revenue plan across customer segments, routes to market and priority geographies.
- Identify workloads where inference speed, consistent latency, throughput and cost create a compelling reason to adopt the platform.
- Establish clear priorities across AI-native companies, enterprise customers and ecosystem partners.
- Balance new customer acquisition with production deployment, retention and expansion.
- Partner with finance and leadership to set revenue targets, investment priorities and commercial performance measures.
Connect developer adoption with enterprise sales
- Build a clear path from initial API usage and technical evaluation to sustained production consumption.
- Define the signals that identify accounts ready for sales engagement, including usage growth, workload requirements and enterprise needs.
- Develop qualification and account development processes that focus on production potential.
- Coordinate sales, solutions engineering and customer success around technical validation and deployment milestones.
- Reduce friction between self-service adoption and negotiated enterprise agreements.
Lead enterprise sales and strategic accounts
- Build an enterprise sales organisation capable of engaging technical champions, procurement teams and executive buyers.
- Establish account planning, opportunity qualification and executive sponsorship for major customers.
- Participate directly in high-value negotiations and complex commercial agreements.
- Ensure proposals reflect credible workload assumptions, deployment requirements and delivery commitments.
- Develop repeatable approaches for moving customers from proof of concept to production.
- Build expansion plans around additional applications, teams and inference demand.
Shape pricing and commercial agreements
- Partner with product and finance on pricing, packaging and enterprise commercial models.
- Develop approaches to consumption-based contracts, committed spend and provisioned capacity.
- Ensure incentives encourage deployment and sustained usage while protecting unit economics.
- Create clear approval processes for discounts, commitments and non-standard terms.
- Evaluate opportunities using revenue potential, gross margin, capacity requirements and delivery risk.
- Distinguish contracted commitments from realised consumption when assessing commercial performance.
Build partnerships and distribution
- Identify partners that can create repeatable access to customers and production workloads.
- Develop relationships with application platforms, systems integrators, model providers and other relevant ecosystem participants.
- Define partnership economics, responsibilities and measures of success.
- Build joint account plans and routes to market where partners improve distribution or implementation.
- Hold partnerships accountable for activated customers and revenue contribution.
Own customer retention and expansion
- Establish clear ownership of onboarding, adoption, account health, renewals and growth.
- Ensure customer success teams understand both business objectives and technical usage patterns.
- Identify barriers to expansion, including reliability concerns, integration challenges and commercial friction.
- Create an effective feedback loop between customers, product and engineering.
- Develop executive relationships with strategic accounts and intervene early when deployments or renewals are at risk.
Build the revenue organisation and operating discipline
- Recruit, develop and lead commercial leaders across the agreed functional remit.
- Design territories, coverage models, compensation plans and hiring priorities.
- Establish consistent pipeline reviews, forecasting and performance management.
- Build visibility into conversion, sales cycles, production activation, consumption growth and retention.
- Align sales forecasts with infrastructure capacity planning and deployment readiness.
- Create a culture of accountability grounded in customer outcomes and sound commercial judgement.
What we’re looking for
- Significant senior commercial leadership experience in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, AI infrastructure or a related technical market.
- A track record of scaling revenue organisations and delivering sustained growth.
- Experience connecting developer-led adoption with enterprise sales and account expansion.
- Strong understanding of consumption-based business models, including forecasting, commitments and usage growth.
- Experience selling technically complex products to engineering, infrastructure and executive stakeholders.
- The ability to translate performance advantages into a credible business case for production adoption.
- Strong commercial judgement across pricing, negotiation, margin and resource allocation.
- Experience building and developing leadership teams, with clear standards for performance.
- A disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting.
- The ability to work closely with product, engineering, finance and operations.
- Executive presence combined with a willingness to engage directly in customer opportunities and operational detail.
Particularly relevant experience
- Scaling a GPU cloud, inference platform, API business or developer infrastructure company.
- Selling infrastructure for real-time AI applications, voice experiences or agentic systems.
- Managing transitions from technical trials to substantial production deployments.
- Negotiating enterprise consumption agreements or reserved capacity commitments.
- Building international commercial teams or partner-led distribution.
- Operating in businesses where customer demand must be coordinated with constrained infrastructure capacity.
What success looks like
- A focused revenue strategy with clear segment priorities and repeatable routes to market.
- More developers and trial customers progressing into sustained production usage.
- Stronger enterprise conversion and expansion supported by credible forecasts.
- Commercial agreements that generate durable revenue with healthy economics.
- A capable leadership team and consistent execution across the customer lifecycle.
- Close alignment between revenue commitments, infrastructure availability and customer delivery.
