Job description

Our client is a publicly listed enterprise software company offering a low-code digital transformation platform that powers mission-critical processes for banks, insurers, and government institutions across 70+ countries. Its core platforms span content services, business process management, and customer communication — enabling clients to build, deploy, and scale complex workflows with speed.

As the company enters its next phase of growth, its ambition is to scale meaningfully beyond its current base — moving from a product-led, India-anchored business to a globally scaled, solutions-led franchise with AI embedded across its offerings.

Why this role matters now
  • The company has a strong global base, with established customer relationships and delivery credentials across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
  • North America and the Caribbean remain significantly underpenetrated relative to their size, strategic importance, and the relevance of the platform to financial services and public sector buyers.
  • The company is seeking a senior commercial leader to build a scaled regional franchise across the US, Canada, and the Caribbean — owning the P&L, shaping the go-to-market model, building the team, and positioning the organization as a credible enterprise partner to Tier-1 institutions.

This is a high-impact opportunity to build and scale the company’s US, Canada, and Caribbean business at a pivotal moment. The incoming leader will work directly with the CEO and global leadership team to shape strategy, strengthen enterprise positioning, win strategic clients, and establish the region as a major engine of the company’s next phase of growth.

ROLE SUMMARY AND OVERVIEW

The Chief Business Officer (CBO) will own the company’s US, Canada, and Caribbean business with full accountability for growth, market positioning, and P&L performance, leading the build-out of the regional commercial franchise. The role covers GTM strategy, enterprise sales, partnerships, and client relationships, while ensuring alignment with global product, delivery, and AI-led innovation priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own regional growth, bookings, revenue, and profitability across the US, Canada, and the Caribbean
  • Build and lead the GTM engine across enterprise sales, alliances, and account expansion
  • Win large transformation deals in BFSI, insurance, and healthcare
  • Build market presence and executive relationships across the region
  • Scale ecosystem-led growth with cloud and SI partners
  • Align product and delivery to regional market needs
  • Build a high-performing regional leadership team
  • Identify, evaluate, and support execution of strategic acquisitions and partnerships
QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL COMPETENCIES
Experience and Qualifications
  • 15–20+ years in enterprise software, with strong exposure to North American markets
  • Proven track record of scaling revenue and leading regional P&L (> $100M preferred)
  • Deep expertise in enterprise sales, large-deal closures, and account expansion
  • Experience building and scaling high-performance sales organizations
  • Strong grasp of consultative selling and complex deal cycles
  • Strong exposure to BFSI (Banking and Insurance preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder management with global leadership teams and boards
Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Enterprise Sales Leadership (Large Deals): Proven ability to originate, shape, and close complex enterprise deals ($5M–$50M+) in BFSI, Insurance, and/or Healthcare.
  • Market-Building & GTM Strategy: Experience scaling markets from sub-scale to high-growth, including segmentation, positioning, and coverage models.
  • CEO Mindset with Commercial Ownership: Operates as a regional CEO — owning revenue, positioning, partnerships, and long-term franchise building.
  • Platform & Solution Selling: Strong understanding of enterprise platforms (BPM, low-code, AI/SaaS) and the ability to translate capabilities into business outcomes.
  • Partnerships & Team Building: Track record of building strategic alliances (hyperscalers, SIs, domain partners) and scaling high-performing commercial organizations.
KEY RESULT AREAS
  • Bookings Growth & P&L Ownership: Own and deliver aggressive revenue growth across the region, with full accountability for pipeline, bookings, and profitability.
  • Pipeline Coverage & Forecast Accuracy: Build a strong pipeline of strategic deals and materially improve forecast accuracy.
  • Strategic Wins: Hit defined targets for the number and value of large strategic deal wins.
  • Partner-Sourced Pipeline: Increase contribution from partnerships through measurable partner-driven pipeline.
  • BFSI Vertical Growth: Drive quantifiable growth in the BFSI vertical (revenue, pipeline, and wins).
  • Expansion in Strategic Accounts: Drive “land and expand” — new-logo acquisition plus deeper penetration of existing strategic accounts.
Key Success Indicators (First 12–18 Months)
  • Step-change in regional revenue trajectory, with a strong forward pipeline and marquee wins in priority verticals
  • Improved large-deal win rates, especially in Insurance and BFSI
  • A structured partnerships engine delivering measurable partner-influenced revenue
  • A high-caliber leadership team in place across sales, pre-sales, and alliances
Leadership Mandates
  • Build the region into a scaled growth engine: transform under-leveraged markets into a primary driver of global growth.
  • Win where it matters: shift from fragmented deal-making to disciplined pursuit of high-value, strategic opportunities.
  • Institutionalize sales excellence: build a metric-driven, process-oriented sales culture with strong governance.
  • Leverage ecosystems: use partnerships and alliances as force multipliers rather than relying solely on direct sales.
