Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist at UMass Memorial Health

Exemption Status: Exempt

Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, On Call - Required

Scheduled Hours: 8a - 4:30p

Shift: 1 - Day Shift, 8 Hours (United States of America)

Hours: 40

Cost Center: 10010 - 3692 Radiation Oncology

Position Responsibilities

1. Provide treatments and simulations for patients according to physicians' orders.
2. Instruct students enrolled in Radiation Therapy School and coordinate related clinical issues.
3. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, demonstrate quality improvement in daily operations, and develop procedures and training for new equipment and treatments.
4. Schedule staffing for simulators and accelerators, maintain schedules, and advise on staffing decisions such as hires, transfers, and promotions.
5. Assist with performance appraisals, orientation, interviewing, and training of personnel.
6. Coordinate task assignments and resolve technical and operational problems, evaluating solutions to ensure goals are met.
7. Provide leadership and guidance to radiation therapists, fostering teamwork and system-wide integration.
8. Ensure adequate equipment and supplies for the department.

Qualifications

License/Certification/Education

• Graduate of CAHEA-approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy and hold a valid Massachusetts state license.

Experience/Skills

• Knowledge of specialty areas such as Simulation, IMRT, SRT, SBRT, HDR, and Quality Assurance programs.
• Experience with Radiation Oncology management systems like Aria, Mosaic, etc.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered if they demonstrate proficiency in the responsibilities listed.
