Job summary

Johns Hopkins Radiation Oncology department in Baltimore is seeking a Chief Radiation Therapist to help lead our elite team. As a Chief Radiation Therapist, you will orient new staff, oversee coverage in clinical and support areas, conduct monthly department meetings with the Manager, and enforce radiation safety measures for patients and staff.

You will also lead departmental initiatives and develop policies and procedures for the therapist staff, ensuring the highest standards of patient care

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or Certification in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy.
  • State certification for Medical Radiation Technologist.
  • Valid CPR card.
  • Seven (7) or more years of Radiation Therapy experience with progressive responsibility.

Responsibilities

Education

Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology program
Registered by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy
State certification for Medical Radiation Technologist
Valid CPR card
Seven (7) or more years of Radiation Therapy experience

Our team of radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, therapists and nurses are all specially trained to treat specific cancers, and we work side-by-side with other Johns Hopkins experts, including surgical oncology, medical oncology, pathology, and interventional radiology to create individualized treatment plans for each patient, using targeted technology. Our patient safety program - cited as one of the best in the nation - employs quality assurance protocols and innovative techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of all our patients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree or Certification in Radiologic Technology. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Status

Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Day Shift

Salary Range

Minimum 48.40/hour - Maximum 79.92/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
