UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Tech unit seeks a Director of Product Security Incident Response (PSIRT) to lead a team that detects, investigates, and mitigates threats across the software lifecycle. You will set the strategic vision, drive cross-functional alignment with Product, Engineering, Legal and Cloud Infra, and ensure readiness to respond to emerging threats in real time.

This role offers remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with an in-office requirement for Minneapolis or Washington, DC

Qualifications

• 10+ years combined software and security engineering experience.
• Threat modeling and code-review experience across diverse stacks.
• SDL/SDLC governance with automated checks in CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response for product-related cyber incidents across the SDLC.
• Define PSIRT strategy, roadmaps, and playbooks; align with business outcomes.
• Integrate threat intel into product pipelines and CI/CD security controls.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Cloud Infra for coordinated response.
• Provide executive briefings and maintain audit-ready documentation.
