Ketchikan (KGB) — Assessment is seeking a Director of Assessment to manage the Borough's assessment program, including planning, directing, and supervising staff. The role is at-will and reports to the Borough Manager, with responsibilities spanning budget, policy development, and fiscal oversight.

The Director will lead the annual assessment roll, ensure equitable valuation practices, and represent the department in Board of Equalization hearings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of state assessment laws and regulations.

Responsabilités

• Plan, direct, and supervise the assessment department staff.
• Develop annual budget and monitor expenditures for sound fiscal control.
• Oversee development and presentation of the annual assessment roll and valuation activities.
• Represent the department at Board of Equalization hearings and defend assessed values on appeal.
• Coordinate department activities across all phases of the assessment process.
