Job summary

Knightscope is seeking a Chief Program Engineer to lead the Emergency Communication Device (ECD) product line at the Sunnyvale, CA headquarters. You will own the program from concept through validation, manage cross‑functional teams, and drive reliability, security, and scalability in large-scale outdoor devices.

The role requires 10+ years of relevant leadership in life-safety/IoT systems, strong problem‑solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary product programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as single accountability owner for ECD product line.
• Oversee development from concept through validation and production ramp.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering efforts to hit milestones.
• Ensure quality, reliability, and field performance across nationwide deployments.
• Manage schedules, risks, design reviews, BOM targets, and program docs.
• Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and sales.
