Job summary

The Chief Program Officer will lead and integrate the Institute’s programmatic execution across research, ranch operations, producer guidance, and partnerships to ensure the organization’s work functions as a cohesive system that advances the mission.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in agriculture, science, education, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience across research, program development, or applied agricultural systems.
• Experience integrating research, operations, and education into a cohesive programmatic model.
• Experience working with producers, partners, and applied agricultural systems.
• Experience within a nonprofit, research, or mission-driven organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead organization as a member of the Executive Team, setting strategy, goals, and aligning teams.
• Develop policies, processes, and budget cycles; allocate resources.
• Ensure scalable systems, quality, continuous improvement and innovation.
• Lead and manage change initiatives; communicate the vision and value.
• Represent the organization to external stakeholders and report to the President.
• Oversee programmatic execution across research, ranch operations, producer guidance, and partnerships.
• Ensure coordinated, high-impact sequencing of work across programmatic areas.
