Job description

We\'re a high-growth technology company that has built a sophisticated multi-sided marketplace at the center of a large, complex, and historically underserved B2B market. The business connects a global network of enterprise buyers and commercial partners through a proprietary platform that makes deeply complicated transactions faster, smarter, and more scalable. The company is growing aggressively and is now making the executive investments required to reach the next level — operationally, financially, and globally.

Why This Role Exists:

The business has reached a stage where product and digital can no longer be treated as a support function. They need to become the engine of growth.

The incoming CPDO will be tasked with transforming how the company thinks about its platform — shifting from a transactional mindset to a product-led, AI-powered, data-driven growth model. This person will have a direct seat at the table with the CEO, CFO, CTO and board, and will carry real ownership over the company\'s revenue growth, margin performance, and long-term platform value.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Platform Vision & Execution

Define where the platform needs to go — and build the organization, operating model, and roadmap to get there. This means making hard prioritization calls, aligning global teams around shared outcomes, and holding the line between what the business needs now and what the platform needs to become.

2. AI at Scale

The company has significant AI ambition. This executive will be responsible for turning that ambition into embedded, scalable capabilities that move metrics — conversion, retention, margin, and operational efficiency. Pilots are not the goal. Durable, revenue-generating AI integration is.

3. Financial Ownership

This is not a role for someone who measures success in shipped features. The CPDO will be expected to own and influence the company\'s growth trajectory, gross margin performance, cost-to-serve economics, and progress toward profitability. Product decisions will be made through a P&L lens.

4. Organizational Leadership

Build, develop, and lead a world-class product and digital organization. Establish the culture, operating cadence, and talent bar that makes product a competitive advantage — not a bottleneck.

The Environment

We are working with a company that operates in one of the most complex B2B marketplace environments you\'ll find. The platform manages high-stakes, multi-party transactions across a fragmented global network — with significant workflow complexity on both the buyer and supplier side.

This is not a simple SaaS environment. It is operationally dense, globally distributed, and workflow-intensive by nature. Leaders who thrive here are energized by that complexity — not intimidated by it.

The business also carries meaningful integration and transformation work on the roadmap. Legacy systems, fragmented workflows, and global operational variability are all part of the picture. The right executive sees that as an opportunity, not overhead.

The Looking For:

We are seeking an executive with a track record that includes:

  • Scaling a complex B2B platform or marketplace business — ideally from $100M to $1B+ in revenue — across multiple geographies and customer segments
  • Owning product decisions at the C-suite or senior VP level in an environment where operational complexity, multi-party workflows, and global scale were daily realities
  • Demonstrated impact on business outcomes — revenue growth, margin improvement, and efficiency gains — not just product delivery
  • Experience leading through transformation — integrating platforms, consolidating systems, or rebuilding operating models at scale
  • Strong technical fluency without being execution-dependent — you understand the systems, can challenge the architecture, and partner effectively with engineering leadership
The Ideal Background

We are open on industry. What matters is the nature of the environment, not the vertical. We typically see strong fits from:

  • High-scale marketplace or platform businesses where transaction complexity is core to the model
  • B2B commerce, procurement, or logistics technology companies
  • Operationally intensive platform businesses with global supplier or partner networks
  • AI-enabled workflow or automation businesses operating at enterprise scale
How the Best Candidates Think
  • They lead with outcomes, not outputs
  • They are as comfortable in a board room as they are in a product review
  • They build for scale without losing sight of near-term commercial reality
  • They make the people around them better — across functions, levels, and geographies
  • They treat ambiguity as a feature, not a bug
The Bottom Line

We are building something genuinely hard — a global, AI-powered B2B marketplace with real operational depth and significant market opportunity. We need a product & digital leader who has done something like this before, wants to own the outcome, and is ready to operate at the highest level. If that\'s you — or someone you know — we\'d like to talk.
