The Wastewater Enterprise manages San Francisco's sewer system and operates multiple treatment facilities. The Chief Plant Operator (CPO) oversees complex treatment plant operations, ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulations, and acts as the Legally Responsible Official (LRO).
The role involves exposure to raw sewage, chemicals, and potential hazards. Overtime, night, weekend, and on-call work may be required, with appropriate PPE provided.
