Town of Hanover seeks an experienced Director of Planning, Zoning & Codes to lead the Planning and Zoning Department and shape the community’s future.

You will guide planning and zoning operations, develop long-range plans, and help ensure that construction meets established standards for quality and safety, while collaborating with town leadership, boards, property owners, developers, engineers, architects, and the public.

Qualifikationen

• A baccalaureate degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum five years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of planning and zoning theories, principles, and practices.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Knowledge of Town zoning ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of building construction techniques and materials.
• Knowledge of state laws, local ordinances, and codes governing inspection processes.
• Strong management and supervisory skills.
• Ability to direct municipal planning and zoning operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and aerial photographs.
• Computer and related drafting-equipment skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Direct the Planning and Zoning Department’s overall activities and operations.
• Lead long-range, comprehensive, capital improvement, and acquisition planning.
• Develop and revise ordinances, policies, and regulations related to planning and zoning.
• Support enforcement efforts and town policies.
• Coordinate activities with other Town departments and outside agencies.
• Conduct professional planning studies and analyses informing decisions.
• Provide education and information to the public about the Master Plan and zoning.
• Support boards with agendas, minutes, and materials.
• Oversee budget preparation and resource management.
• Provide leadership to the Planning and Zoning team.
