Job summary

Charter Communications, via Spectrum News, seeks a Chief Photojournalist to lead the photojournalism department and oversee ENG/SNG news gathering hardware and workflows.

Qualifications

• Shooting and editing television news footage experience - 8+ years, microwave truck experience
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, related field or comparable television work experience
• Must know how to edit news video
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate solutions; ability to relate well with populations and age groups
• Ability to interface with internal company personnel, requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving
• Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community, must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license for authorized driving in the State of residence
• Ability to work various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to "breaking news", and/or severe weather emergencies

As the Chief Photojournalist, you will overseethe photojournalism department. You will lead a team of photojournalists while operating ENG/SNG news gathering equipment. You will need to know how to developnews photographs for video. Your photographers will be prepared and sent out on assignments. You will establishproduction, technical, and photojournalistic quality standards. You must ensure standards are met and provide editorial comments to photojournalists. You'll make data-informed decisions about what's resonating to connect our audience with the stories that matter.

• Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions

A qualified applicant's criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances.

The base pay for this position generally is between $78,900.00 and $139,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
