Job summary

The Chronicle of Philanthropy seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead our fundraising strategy and secure private support to extend our impact. You will work closely with the CEO, CRO, and CCD to drive grants, major gifts, and a multi-year revenue plan, including a potential endowment-focused campaign for our 40th anniversary.

You will build a high-performing development team and integrate fundraising with program goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive development experience.
• Proven track record closing foundation grants and major gifts.
• Strategic partner to executive leadership and boards.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; a compelling storyteller.
• Ability to work independently and manage up.

• Design and implement a comprehensive development strategy and fundraising plan.
