Job summary

Ocean Conservancy seeks an experienced human resources executive, with a focus on JEDI initiatives, to develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy that supports our talented team. The SVP ensures clear policies and efficient systems across HR, including recruiting, development, performance, compensation, benefits, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience including 8+ years in an executive leadership role.
• Proven record building justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in an organizational setting.
• Collaborative leadership style and ability to work across diverse teams.
• Exceptional cultural competency and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven skills in facilitation, training, conflict resolution and equity-informed mediation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; second languages appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and strengthen HR policies, systems, and procedures to reflect strategy, values, culture, and commitment to JEDI.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy with best practices in recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, benefits, and legal compliance.
• Lead the JEDI task force to develop clear, actionable, sustainable goals.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to build a healthy, sustainable culture.
• Serve as Ocean Conservancy’s liaison with the Roger Arliner Young Fellowship program managed by the Environmental Leadership Program.
