Job summary

UNC Health in Morrisville, NC seeks the System Vice President of Managed Care to lead payer strategy, contract negotiations, and value-based contracting across our network. The role requires strategic oversight of commercial, government contracts, and direct-to-employer relationships.

You will coordinate with UNC Health Alliance, Quality, Pharmacy, Research, and clinical leaders to align incentives, optimize performance, and drive population health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is required.
• Requires a minimum of 12 years of experience, with at least 10 years of people management experience.
• Experience leading within large integrated health networks and complex payer environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead System-wide Managed Care strategy and staff operations.
• Lead negotiations with external payers on behalf of owned and managed hospitals and entities.
• Collaborate with UNC Health Alliance, Quality Department, Pharmacy, Research and School of Medicine to align payer incentives.
• Manage and budget for all functional departments within the Managed Care scope.
• Drive value-based contracting strategies and population health initiatives.
