Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Indiana is seeking a Patient Safety Director to lead the Reaching for Zero strategy across assigned facilities. You will develop a comprehensive safety plan, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety with system improvements to reduce patient harm.

You will direct safety event reporting, analyze root causes with risk management, collaborate on regulatory responses, and build education programs to advance patient safety organization-wide.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in health care and one year management experience in healthcare.
• Bachelor Degree.
• Master Degree (preferred).
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety - CPPS (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient safety officer at the assigned facilities or entities and drive the Reaching for Zero strategic plan with ongoing risk assessment.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive facility patient safety plan that includes continuous improvement and risk assessment.
• Promote a culture of safety and Just Culture principles through training and education of evidence-based safety science to staff and leaders.
• Identify safety events, perform event classification and root-cause analysis in collaboration with risk management and leadership.
• Provide organizational response to regulatory standards related to patient safety and coordinate mandatory reporting with accreditation teams.
