Job summary

MedStar Health seeks an accomplished Vice President, Patient Safety and Infection Prevention to set the strategic vision for system-wide safety and infection control. You will oversee the SafetyNet framework, lead a multidisciplinary team, and partner with senior leaders to reduce patient harm and strengthen safety culture across the enterprise.

You will drive evidence-based interventions, coordinate reporting to the MedStar Health Board Quality Committee, and ensure preparedness for emerging

Qualifications

• Board-certified physician with applicable licensure preferred.
• 10+ years leadership experience in a large integrated health system.
• Expertise in infection prevention programs for inpatient and outpatient facilities.
• Experience with safety science, risk management and quality improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for system-wide patient safety, infection prevention and high reliability initiatives.
• Oversee governance, reporting, and performance improvement across hospitals and entities.
• Collaborate with system leaders to align safety standards with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Lead safety and infection prevention programs, including event management and risk mitigation.
