Job summary

Nicklas Laboratory Staffing seeks a Medical Director and Chief Pathologist to guide Southwest Michigan pathology services within a leading regional laboratory. The role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibility, quality oversight, and strategic influence in collaboration with executive leadership and a major Midwest health system.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in anatomical & clinical pathology.
• Strong leadership and management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director and Chief Pathologist with oversight of lab operations, quality and clinical strategy.
• Partner with executive leadership on organizational growth and strategy.
• Lead pathology services affiliated with a major Midwest hospital system.
• Maintain a robust clinical practice with a high surgical pathology caseload (~14,400 cases/yr).
• Work in a CLIA-certified environment with no autopsy duties.
• Oversee competitive compensation, incentives, and benefits programs.
