Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Director of Directorate Chief Operations Officer (DCOO) to lead Environmental & Legacy Management. This executive drives strategic planning, operational excellence, risk management, and workforce development to enable world-class science and future DOE priorities.

Based in Aiken, SC, the role partners with ALD and directorate leadership to advance missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business administration, public administration, or related discipline.
• Twelve+ years of progressively responsible leadership within the DOE complex, national laboratory, or similarly regulated environment.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary organizations integrating research, operations, facilities, and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic leadership and organizational integration to translate the ELM Strategic Plan into measurable outcomes.
• Oversee all operational aspects to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient conversions of research into mission delivery.
• Drive risk management, performance metrics, and continuous improvement across the directorate.
• Advance workforce planning, talent development, and organizational capability growth.
