JMJ Phillip Group is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead a multi-site industrial manufacturing organization in the Chesterfield area. This senior role oversees engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in engineer-to-order manufacturing, 7+ years leading managers across functions, and a proven track record delivering profitable, on-schedule projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in engineer-to-order manufacturing, custom machinery, or heavy industrial capital equipment.
• 7+ years leading managers or department heads across multiple functions (engineering, manufacturing, quality, or supply chain).
• Proven track record delivering complex custom projects on schedule and within budget.
• Experience managing budgets, project margins, and operational performance.
• Strong understanding of stage-gate design reviews, engineering release processes, change control, project management, and capacity planning.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical systems, controls, and automation.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end customer program delivery from kickoff through acceptance.
• Coordinate scheduling, capacity planning, and supplier performance across sites.
• Enforce stage-gate processes, design reviews, and change management.
• Lead improvements to design for manufacturability and production readiness.
• Manage budgets, costs, and profitability of programs.
• Drive operational KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives across locations.
