Job summary

Pittsburgh Symphony, Inc. (PSI) seeks a Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer to partner with the CEO on mission delivery and long-range planning. The COO will supervise artistic planning, operations, IT, education and community programs, and relationships with labor unions.

The role leads capital projects, staff development, and organizational governance, ensuring efficient operations and strategic growth for the PSO in a major cultural center.

Qualifications

• College degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in operational leadership and strategic planning.
• At least 8 years in arts management, preferably in orchestra management.
• At least 5 years in a senior management role with a professional arts organization.
• Experience in motivating, managing and developing teams.
• Experience with large capital projects.
• Experience with labor negotiations and collective bargaining.
