AIB Data Centers develops and operates high-performance digital infrastructure designed to support the rapidly growing demands of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and other compute-intensive applications. We are building a scalable data center platform focused on operational excellence, disciplined execution, strategic partnerships, and long-term value creation.

As AIB enters its next stage of growth, we are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to translate the company’s strategy into execution and establish the operational foundation required to scale.

The role

The Chief Operating Officer will serve as a key partner to the CEO and leadership team, overseeing AIB’s strategic operations and driving the execution of the company’s priorities.

This executive will provide leadership across data center development, construction, commissioning, site operations, commercial execution, procurement, organizational development, and cross-functional planning. The COO will also support acquisitions, strategic partnerships, customer engagements, and other transactions central to AIB’s growth.

The ideal candidate combines deep operational expertise with strong commercial judgment and the ability to lead effectively within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Translate AIB’s strategic vision into clear operating plans, priorities, milestones, and performance objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day business operations and ensure strong coordination across development, engineering, construction, finance, procurement, legal, commercial, and corporate functions.
• Establish scalable operating processes, governance structures, reporting systems, and decision-making frameworks.
• Develop and monitor company-wide KPIs, budgets, project schedules, and operational performance.
• Identify operational risks, resource constraints, and execution gaps, and implement practical solutions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

Data Center Development and Operations

• Provide executive oversight across the full data center lifecycle, including site selection, due diligence, design, permitting, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and customer requirements.
• Oversee operational readiness, including staffing, maintenance programs, incident response, capacity planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Partner with technical leaders to ensure infrastructure is designed and operated to meet reliability, security, efficiency, and scalability standards.
• Monitor power availability, utility relationships, interconnection requirements, cooling strategies, and other critical infrastructure considerations.
• Build strong relationships with general contractors, equipment providers, utilities, engineering firms, and other strategic vendors.

Commercial and Transaction Execution

• Partner with the CEO and commercial leadership to evaluate and advance customer opportunities, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other growth initiatives.
• Support customer negotiations and ensure commercial commitments are operationally and financially achievable.
• Assist with acquisitions and strategic transactions, including operational due diligence, integration planning, negotiation support, and deal execution.
• Evaluate new markets, sites, projects, and business opportunities based on their strategic, operational, and financial viability.
• Help structure and close agreements with customers, vendors, landowners, utilities, and development partners.

Financial and Organizational Management

• Partner with Finance to develop annual operating plans, project budgets, forecasts, capital allocation priorities, and cost-control measures.
• Maintain visibility into project economics, capital requirements, operating expenses, and overall business performance.
• Build and develop a high-performing organization capable of supporting AIB’s growth.
• Assess organizational structure, leadership needs, staffing requirements, and external resource allocation.
• Establish clear ownership, performance expectations, and accountability across teams.
• Support executive hiring, succession planning, leadership development, and broader organizational change initiatives.

Executive and Board Partnership

• Serve as a trusted strategic and operational partner to the CEO.
• Provide the executive team and Board of Directors with clear, timely reporting on operational performance, key initiatives, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring executive-level coordination and decision-making.
• Represent AIB with customers, investors, business partners, government authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure the organization operates in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, safety, and corporate governance requirements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant responsibility for complex operations, infrastructure, development, or technology-driven businesses.
• Prior experience serving as a COO, President, Head of Operations, or comparable senior executive.
• Demonstrated experience within data centers, critical infrastructure, energy, utilities, real estate development, construction, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, or a closely related industry.
• Strong understanding of data center development and operations, including power, cooling, construction, commissioning, reliability, and capacity planning.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects involving multiple internal teams, vendors, contractors, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Experience developing scalable operating processes and building teams within a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, contract negotiations, and project economics.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, or other complex transactions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, customers, investors, executives, and board members.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance, operations, construction management, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required to support project sites, customers, partners, and business development activities up to 35%.
