About the position: MWB is seeking a strategic and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our operational functions and support our mission of collaborative, practical, bespoke legal services. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will direct and oversee all administrative and operational functions, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring efficient resource management. The COO will work closely with firm leadership to enhance business performance, optimize workflows, and support growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and participate in the strategic and tactical planning process of MWB and related real property management entity, DrHumor Associates. Work with the Management Committees of MWB and DrHumor, as well as established committees to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the MWB’s goals.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all practice groups and administration.
• Manage HR, IT, finance, and administrative functions.
• Oversee the production and publication of monthly financial statements and metrics. Monitor and report financial results to appropriate individuals, groups and committees. Provide analysis and forecast results as required.
• Oversee budget planning, financial reporting, and monitors cost management.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Collaborate with partners to support business development and client service initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience of at least three (3) years in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong strategic planning, financial management, and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA license, MBA, or relevant advanced degree preferred
