Job summary

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center seeks a President & COO to lead transformational change, position the center nationally, and align mission with operating and revenue models. This role reports to the Cincinnati Museum Center President & CEO and works with the Board of Directors across governance, fundraising, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent required.
• 15+ years of related experience with at least 7 years in senior leadership.
• Demonstrated success in museum or cultural organizations.
• Strong record in community engagement and revenue strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning, set priorities and actionable plans.
• Drive fundraising and donor cultivation.
• Oversee operations, programs, facilities, and visitor experience.
• Manage budget with CFO and ensure financial discipline.
• Advance digital strategy and revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with Board and senior staff for governance and partnerships.
