Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, together with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, seeks a Chief of the Urology Section to lead a growing academic team. You will direct clinical, educational, and research activities and spearhead the development of a Urologic Surgery Residency Program.

The role requires MD/DO with Board Certification/Eligible in Urology and a track record of leadership in an academic setting, plus a commitment to education and research.

Qualifications

• MD/DO, Board Certification/Eligible in Urology.
• At least 5 years of progressive urology leadership in an academic setting with an academic rank of at least Associate Professor.
• Evidence of strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Experience with graduate medical education is preferred.
• Fellowship Training in a Urologic specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the clinical, educational, and research activities for the Section.
• Plan and build a future Urologic Surgery Residency Program.
• Lead the team: six urologists and three advanced care practitioners.
• Maintain an academic appointment at VTCSOM.
