Shriners Children’s St. Louis seeks a mission-driven physician leader to serve as Chief of Staff – Orthopedics, guiding medical teams and advancing clinical excellence.

The role balances strategic oversight, governance, and operational performance with clinical duties in pediatric orthopedic care. The successful candidate will be board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery, fellowship-trained in pediatric subspecialties, and have extensive leadership in clinical operations, accreditation, and staff

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME residency in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic or Pediatric Spine.
• 8–10 years of clinical orthopedic/spine practice, pediatric preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive leadership in clinical ops/admin/physician leadership.
• ABOS board certification with pediatric subspecialty.
• Eligibility for active and unrestricted medical licensure; valid DEA.
• Credentialing and privileging by medical staff.

Responsabilités

• Act as primary administrative liaison between Orthopedics and hospital leadership.
• Represent Medical Staff in Board meetings and governance committees.
• Develop Medical Staff Bylaws; support hospital regulations and policies.
• Build relationships with Shrine Temples and the medical staff.
• Lead recruitment, credentialing, training, evaluations, and professional development.
• Manage department budget, contracts, and operational expenditures.
• Oversee daily Orthopedics operations, scheduling, staffing, and resources.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
