This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who can understand senior leadership’s vision, translate it into action, and ensure priorities are executed throughout the organization.

The organization includes multiple service lines, approximately 14 department leaders, and a fast-paced operational environment. The Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted advisor, problem-solver, and operational leader who helps ensure departments remain aligned, communication flows effectively, and issues are addressed before they reach senior leadership.

The primary objective of this role is to remove operational burden from leadership by creating stronger accountability, improving collaboration, and ensuring the organization runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to Senior Leadership
  • Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues and work to resolve challenges before they require Senior Leadership's involvement
  • Meet regularly with department leaders to identify obstacles, monitor progress, and drive execution
  • Help translate organizational vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes
  • Hold leaders accountable for commitments, deadlines, and organizational priorities
  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and communication breakdowns across departments
  • Develop and implement solutions that improve workflows, collaboration, and overall performance
  • Improve communication and alignment between departments and leadership teams
  • Lead meetings, follow up on action items, and ensure consistent execution
  • Analyze operational challenges and recommend practical solutions
  • Support strategic initiatives, organizational growth, and process improvement efforts
  • Serve as a trusted sounding board for leadership on operational and organizational matters
  • Help create structure, consistency, and accountability across the organization
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mature, highly professional leader who combines strong operational instincts with exceptional interpersonal skills.

This person should have:

  • Senior leadership, operations, project management, or chief of staff experience
  • Experience within healthcare, homecare, human services, social services, insurance, or another complex service-based organization preferred
  • Proven ability to work directly with executives and senior leadership teams
  • Strong operational, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to influence and hold people accountable without relying solely on authority
  • Excellent judgment, emotional intelligence, and diplomacy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate different personalities and leadership styles
  • Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience improving workflows, processes, and organizational effectiveness
