Oberon Studios in Los Angeles seeks a strategic operator to run point on high-impact initiatives. You’ll build external-facing materials, structure cross-functional projects, and act as a thought partner on pricing, sequencing, and competitive positioning.
You’ll own contracts, NDAs, and client engagements, defend weekly priorities, and work directly with leadership to translate ambiguity into actionable plans.
Oberon buys and transforms mid-market operating businesses with AI agents, through Oberon Holdings, and runs the same kind of transformation for companies we don't own, through Oberon Studios. Most of what makes a company hard to fix is a solvable engineering problem: messy data, scattered institutional knowledge, and outdated workflows. We build that tooling once and make it sharper with every company we engage with.
We're small and early. A hire here takes on real responsibility fast.
Right now, the biggest constraint on how fast Oberon Studios moves is our leadership team's bandwidth. Big projects and small decisions alike wait on them, simply because there's no one else with the context and authority to make the call. This role exists to fix that: you run point on whatever matters most that week, with the authority to see it through.
It's the seat for someone who can walk into a problem with no existing process and no obvious owner, and figure out what needs to happen next. This isn't a support role where the work comes pre-scoped - you're expected to define it and own what happens after.
Build the external-facing work that wins and keeps business: sales decks, pricing narratives, client proposals, board and investor materials. You structure the argument. Take ownership of cross-functional projects that don't have a natural owner, from a vendor negotiation to a brand-new internal process. Represent leadership in rooms they can't be in, and act as a real thought partner on strategy questions - pricing, sequencing, competitive positioning. Handle the contracts, NDAs, and billing that keep client engagements moving. Decide what's worth your time this week, and be ready to defend that call.
2-4 years at a top consulting firm, in banking, or in a strategy/ops role at a fast-scaling startup. Comfortable switching between very different kinds of work in the same week, without needing much ramp‑up each time. High ownership and no ego about task size. You'll do work that's genuinely strategic and work that's unglamorous, often in the same day, and neither should feel beneath or above you. You won't write code, but you should get real speed out of AI tools in your own work.
You spent a few years somewhere that trained you to structure ambiguity fast (a top consulting firm, a bank, or the strategy and ops team at a startup that scaled quickly), and you're done building decks for someone else's decision. You want the decision to be yours to drive, direct access to the people making it, and a job whose shape changes with whatever the company needs that week. You think about what has to be true for the business to win.
Base salary guidance is $130,000 to $160,000, plus bonus and equity.
We hire on ability and fit, not background. Every applicant gets a fair look regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or any other status protected by law.
