Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, consulting or Chief of Staff roles.
• Backgrounds: 2-4 years at McKinsey, Bain or BCG with operational tech role OR 5+ years in operations/ BizOps in early-stage startups.
• Demonstrate individual impact beyond team achievements.
• Founder Associate/Chief of Staff or similar high-ownership role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CEO and CTO; own day-to-day operations and enable focus on strategy/product/fundraising.
• Lead cross-functional projects from idea through execution.
• Drive priorities and ensure initiatives move forward with aligned teams.
• Own KPI reporting and executive communications.
• Manage strategic partnerships, pilots and vendor onboarding.
• Build financial models to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Prepare board materials and investor updates; provide strategic analysis.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable processes.
• Help shape the Office of the CEO and hire Special Projects Associates as the company grows.

We're partnering with an ambitious seed-stage AI startup that's transforming the commercial insurance industry.

This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role.

You'll become the CEO's operating partner and force multiplier, owning the highest-leverage, cross-functional work across the business. You'll solve ambiguous problems, drive execution, and help shape how the company scales from the ground up.

What you'll be doing

• Partner closely with the CEO and CTO, taking ownership of day-to-day operations and enabling them to focus on strategy, product and fundraising.
• Lead cross-functional projects from idea through execution.
• Drive company priorities, ensuring initiatives move forward and teams stay aligned.
• Own KPI reporting, business metrics and executive communications.
• Manage strategic partnerships, pilot programmes and vendor onboarding.
• Build financial models and support key commercial and operational decisions with data.
• Prepare board materials, investor updates and strategic analysis.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable processes.
• Build and shape the future Office of the CEO, including hiring Special Projects Associates as the company grows.

What we're looking for

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, consulting or Chief of Staff roles.
• One of the following backgrounds:
• 2-4 years at McKinsey, Bain or BCG, followed by an operational role within a high-growth technology company.
• 5+ years in operations, strategy, BizOps or a founding role within an early-stage startup or scale-up.
• Experience working in seed to Series B companies where you've owned initiatives from concept through execution.
• Able to clearly demonstrate your individual impact rather than team achievements.
• Previous experience as a Founder Associate, Chief of Staff, Business Operations Lead, General Manager or similar high-ownership role is highly desirable.

Skills

• Exceptional analytical and structured problem-solving ability.
• High agency and ownership mindset—you identify problems before being asked and drive them through to completion.
• Comfortable making decisions with limited information and navigating ambiguity.
• Strong financial modelling and commercial analysis skills.
• Experience using AI tools and LLMs to automate and improve workflows.
• Strong proficiency with Google Sheets, SQL and modern productivity tools.

Education

• Bachelor's degree from a highly selective university.
• MBA from a leading programme (e.g. Stanford, Harvard, Wharton, MIT Sloan, Booth) is highly desirable.
