Summary
The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse, Physician, Psychologist, or Social Worker to serve as Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health (ACOS/MH), reporting directly to the Chief of Staff.
Qualifications Basic Requirements
- English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- Educational Requirements: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing, accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of completion, or equivalent foreign education with validation. Current unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in the U.S. is required.
- Licensure and Certification: Must hold a full, active, and unrestricted license. Candidates without licensure may be appointed as a Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) temporarily while pursuing licensure.
- Experience and Education: For Nurse IV: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with 4 years of professional nursing experience, or related degrees with specified experience. Foreign education higher than an associate degree requires formal equivalency validation.
- Dimensions and Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in healthcare delivery, business acumen, fostering an inclusive culture, and effective communication skills.
- Preferred Experience: 10+ years VA experience, with 5+ years supervisory experience.
Duties
- Manage daily operations of the Mental Health department.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to provide high-quality, efficient mental health services.
- Provide clinical oversight and supervision of staff delivering evidence-based care across various settings, including outpatient clinics and tele-mental health.
- Work closely with senior leadership to design and evaluate innovative treatment approaches.
- Ensure compliance with FPPE/OPPE, peer reviews, scope of practice, credentialing, and privileging.
