Physician Affiliate Group of New York, PAGNY, seeks a Chief of Emergency Medicine for NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. This leadership role focuses on directing ED operations, staffing, scheduling, and clinical supervision within a large urban safety-net hospital.

The ideal candidate is board-certified in Emergency Medicine with extensive leadership and administrative experience in a high-volume ED, and will collaborate with affiliated institutions to advance quality, education, and research

Qualifications

• Board-certified emergency physician with strong leadership experience.
• Proven ability to supervise clinical staff and coordinate services.
• Experience managing departmental budgets and throughput metrics.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative integration and coordination of the Emergency Department.
• Oversee scheduling, staff meetings, and orientation for Physicians and APPs.
• Supervise providers, conduct peer review, and manage leaves and evaluations.
• Ensure training, supervision, and coordination with other units.
• Monitor provider productivity, documentation, and billing.
• Maintain ED throughput and patient satisfaction goals.
• Support combined Emergency Medicine residency with NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, (PAGNY), has an opportunity for a Chief of Emergency Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Opportunity Details

• Manage administrative responsibilities such as effective integration and coordination of the clinical services Department, scheduling and conducting clinical staff meetings, and orienting and mentoring all new Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians.
• Ensure clinical staff is continually trained and supervised and that activities of the medical staff are coordinated with other operating units of the organization.
• Responsible for setting provider schedules including “call” schedule, ensures distribution of new and revised schedules in a timely fashion to all providers, intake/eligibility supervisors, and Administration.
• Supervise all providers, including performing new hire orientations, conducting peer review process, corrective action counseling, terminations, and approving all requests for leaves of absence, training, special requests, and annual evaluations.
• Assumes clinical responsibility in conjunction with the team.
• Fosters an environment that promotes Quality Assurance & Improvement Programs.
• Adhering to the department's affiliation budget.
• Monitoring and improving provider productivity, documentation, and billing.
• Monitoring and maintaining ED throughput metrics and patient satisfaction scores.
• Combined Emergency Medicine residency with NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.
