Job summary

The City of Baltimore Department of Transportation seeks a Chief of Bridges and Structures to guide the city's bridge and transportation structures program. You will manage planning, design, construction, inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation of City-owned bridges and related infrastructure, including pedestrian facilities and retaining walls.

This role requires extensive project delivery experience, knowledge of federal funding, and the ability to manage complex programs from planning

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex bridge and structural projects including planning, design, procurement, and construction.
• Experience managing design contracts, budgets, schedules, and consultant teams.
• Knowledge of Complete Streets and multimodal transportation planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge and structural projects from planning through construction with accountability for scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop multi-year capital programs using inspection data and transportation plans.
• Oversee coordination with FHWA, MDOT SHA, and other agencies on federal funding and compliance.
• Evaluate alternative delivery methods (e.g., Design-Build, CMAR) to accelerate delivery.
