The successful candidate will bring 10+ years of ocean-law experience, a law degree, and strong fundraising and leadership skills, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in ocean law and policy.
  • JD with active bar membership in New England or ability to reciprocity.
  • Experience applying Magnuson-Stevens Act, Endangered Species Act, MMPA, and Antiquities Act.
  • Proven ability to lead people and projects.
  • Strong fundraising, financial management, and strategic partnership skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the vision and strategy for CLF’s Ocean conservation work.
  • Foster inclusive management and healthy workplace culture.
  • Build partnerships with communities and stakeholders to maximize impact.
  • Partner with development to identify funding and craft proposals and budgets.
  • Oversee annual program budget (~$1.8 million) and reporting.
  • Represent CLF before officials, partners, and the public.
