Job summary

Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) seeks a Vice President for Ocean Conservation to lead a high‑impact program advancing sustainable fisheries, right whale protections, and marine planning in New England.

The role reports to the Senior VP for Law & Policy and offers a Boston base with some remote work within New England. You will drive policy, science, and market‑based solutions and guide a multidisciplinary team toward strategic impact.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of ocean law and policy experience.
  • Law degree and active bar in New England states.
  • Experience with core ocean conservation statutes.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Track record in navigating complex policy initiatives.
  • Experience starting/building new initiatives or large teams.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vision and strategy for CLF’s Ocean conservation work.
  • Guide a 10+ member team toward strategic solutions.
  • Build partnerships with communities most affected and with leaders across sectors.
  • Collaborate with development to prepare grant proposals and budgets.
  • Oversee an annual program budget around $1.8 million.
  • Coordinate with communications for campaigns and collateral.
