Job summary

LongTerm Healthcare is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead nursing and clinical operations across a growing portfolio of skilled nursing and post-acute care facilities in multiple states. This executive role shapes clinical strategy, mentors nursing leaders, and drives quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive nursing leadership, RN licensure, BSN, and a Master’s degree, with a proven record of regulatory success and multi-site oversight.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in good standing.
  • BSN required.
  • 10+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years of executive or regional leadership in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or Post-Acute Care.
  • Experience overseeing multiple facilities and leading geographically dispersed clinical teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, quality measures, reimbursement, and skilled nursing operations.
  • Demonstrated success improving clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and nursing team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for nursing and clinical operations across a multi-state portfolio of skilled nursing facilities.
  • Lead and mentor Regional Clinical Directors, Directors of Nursing, and other clinical leaders.
  • Develop and implement organization-wide clinical strategies that improve quality outcomes and resident satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations while maintaining survey readiness across all facilities.
  • Drive improvements in Five-Star Quality Ratings, infection prevention, rehospitalization rates, pressure injury prevention, falls reduction, and other key quality metrics.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and executive leadership to improve clinical performance and organizational growth.
  • Standardize clinical best practices while supporting the unique needs of individual facilities.
  • Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Support acquisitions, new facility integrations, and organizational expansion.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an accomplished, visionary Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead nursing and clinical operations across our expanding portfolio of skilled nursing and post-acute care facilities. What You'll Do

As our Chief Nursing Officer, you will:

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

  • BSN required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.

  • At least 5 years of executive or regional leadership experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or Post-Acute Care.

  • Experience overseeing multiple facilities and leading geographically dispersed clinical teams.

  • Extensive knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, quality measures, reimbursement, and skilled nursing operations.

  • Demonstrated success improving clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and nursing team performance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Executive nursing certification (NE-BC, CENP, or equivalent).

  • Experience in a multi-state healthcare organization.

  • Experience supporting acquisitions, growth initiatives, or organizational transformation.
