Qualifications

• Advanced degree in meteorology or closely related physical science.
• 10+ years of professional meteorology experience.
• 5+ years actively communicating complex forecasts to the public.
• Proven leadership and mentoring across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead meteorological strategy and forecasting direction for the organization.
• Guide scientifically sound storytelling and ensure accuracy across platforms.
• Advise senior leadership on operational decisions such as field deployments and breaking news preemptions.
• Represent The Weather Group to agencies, scientific institutions, and government officials.
• Collaborate with newsroom and editorial teams to align analysis with messaging.
• Mentor technical talent and drive high-performance teams.
