Job Details

The Chief Medical & Quality Officer at JEP is a key clinical leadership strategist responsible for shaping the vision of future healthcare services. This role involves making recommendations and implementing plans for quality and safety programs, as well as consolidating and rationalizing services and patient placements within the division and across Jefferson Health. The CMO/CQO builds relationships across the organization, especially with physicians, to safeguard quality and safety and to foster continuous improvement aligned with strategic priorities.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

• Lead quality and safety initiatives by developing data-driven accountability systems and scorecards; align goals related to quality, safety, and care management with outcomes to promote ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and senior teams to improve access to services across the care continuum, maintaining quality standards and supporting organizational transformation from inpatient and outpatient care to seamless delivery across markets.
• Serve as the medical point person for operational teams; partner with multidisciplinary groups to achieve outcomes and develop a regional referral network that leverages Jefferson's strengths for growth and alignment.
• Engage with physician leaders to ensure understanding of organizational changes, align medical staff with organizational goals, and participate in key meetings and recruitment efforts.
• Partner with the Jefferson CMO community to ensure system-wide alignment and best practices.
• Oversee the Hospitalist program in collaboration with department chairs.

Key Qualifications & Experiences

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school; Board-certified with current license or eligibility in Pennsylvania.
• Preferred: Advanced degree in healthcare management or business.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in complex healthcare systems.
