UPMC Family Hospice seeks a Chief Medical Officer to provide visionary clinical leadership across hospice services within UPMC’s IDFS. This senior physician executive partners with hospitals, PSI, and service lines to advance serious-illness care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

The CMO directs medical direction, supports CMS and payer requirements, leads quality initiatives, and drives growth of hospice and palliative programs in alignment with value-based care.

Qualifikationen

• MD or DO with active Pennsylvania medical license
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
• Demonstrated leadership experience in hospice and/or palliative care
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within complex health systems

Aufgaben

• Lead the integration of hospice and palliative care services within UPMC acute care hospitals, including inpatient units, ICUs, EDs, and specialty service lines.
• Provide overall medical direction for all hospice programs, including inpatient, hospital-based, SNF, and community settings; ensure CMS and payer compliance.
• Oversee physician documentation, billing, and coding to support quality and financial integrity.
• Establish and maintain physician services schedules to support 24/7 coverage for hospice programs.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives focusing on patient outcomes, safety, and experience.
• Drive clinical program growth aligned with value-based and population health strategies.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing physician and APP workforce.
