Job summary

XRHealth INC is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to lead the clinical function and guide strategy for our digital health platform. This hands-on, build-and-scale role requires a physician who can translate clinical insight into product decisions and drive evidence-based adoption.

You will partner with the CTO to translate clinical evidence into product requirements, establish AI governance, and oversee outcomes research, regulatory compliance, and clinical quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• MD with board certification in Psychiatry or Neurology and active medical license.
• 10+ years of physician-executive experience, including 5+ years in senior clinical leadership.
• Proven track record in digital health, health technology, or virtual care with growth.
• Strong collaboration with product and engineering; working knowledge of AI/ML in healthcare.
• Experience designing outcomes measurement and clinical/economic evidence for payer adoption.
• Working knowledge of FDA, HIPAA, CMS, telehealth and multi-state licensure requirements.
• Exceptional communication and executive presence; willing to relocate to the Boston area.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute XRHealth's clinical strategy across rehab, chronic pain, and behavioral health.
• Lead and develop the clinical organization, including supervision and credentialing.
• Serve on the executive team shaping strategy, product roadmap, and investments from a clinical view.
• Partner with CTO and product teams to translate evidence into product requirements and care pathways for VR/AR platform.
• Establish and own the clinical AI governance framework; ensure safety, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide clinical sign-off on new product releases, protocols, and therapeutic programs.
• Set research and evidence agenda including real-world evidence and publications.
• Own outcomes measurement framework: endpoints, engagement metrics, PROs.
• Develop health economic and ROI methodologies for payers and health system partners.
• Own clinical quality, safety, governance, policies, and incident review; drive CQI.
• Oversee regulatory compliance (FDA, HIPAA, CMS, telehealth; multi-state licensure).
• Maintain a clinical quality infrastructure to support rapid product iteration.
• Act as the external clinical voice with payers, health plans, regulators; represent XRHealth at conferences.
• Lead clinical due diligence on acquisitions and integration of programs and networks.
